United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon attends international meeting on Afghanistan during the Bucharest NATO Summit, 2-4 April 2008!


Mr. Ban Ki-moon’s 3-day long mission includes several official meetings and a visit to the UN House in Bucharest where he will meet with the UN Country Team and staff.

On 3 April, S-G Ban Ki-moon will attend a high-level meeting on Afghanistan. Participants include Afghan President Hamid Karzai, EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, and other high-level representatives of NATO and non-NATO countries contributing to the International Security Assistance Force.
During his visit, the UN Secretary-General will also hold consultations with NATO Secretary-General Hoop Scheffer and other NATO Officials.
